shaphang ngi · about us
The Meghalaya Dev Community is a non-profit, entirely volunteer-run community of developers, UI/UX and graphic designers, students, teaching faculty and founders in Shillong. Membership is free and open. There are no gatekeepers.
Nobody here takes a salary or a cut. For years, every event was paid for by core members putting their own money in and settling up afterwards — ₹579 a head in 2022, ₹528.50 in 2023. That's the kind of community this is.
ki jingkwah — the goals
Cultivate and promote open-source development.
Bring developers, designers and others together to share knowledge and ideas.
Organise meet-ups and webinars, online and offline.
Be a network where young people connect, keep up with computer science, find work, and discover tools.
Impart computer knowledge, provide training, and promote local entrepreneurs.
Encourage youth to build solutions that benefit the state.
ka lynti — the path
2020
The first Dev.Connect. A small room, a big idea: Shillong's builders should know each other.
2022
The comeback: 104 registered, 86 came. Cake was cut, Symphony played, and a tradition took shape.
2023
The biggest yet — 150 registered, parallel Flutter and IoT tracks, a live stream. Students became the heart of the room.
2024
A leaner, hands-on edition at St. Anthony's — and the year the spreadsheets finally broke. This platform is the answer.
2026
The fifth edition, aiming for 200+, run on software the community built for itself. You're looking at it.
